Migración Quilmes

Migración Quilmes

The acrylic on canvas illustrates, on three levels, the internal migration of the Quilmes people. Forced by the Spanish they walk long 1300 km, from Tucumán to the province of Buenos Aires, decimating them. In the upper third, it shows the ruins of the Sacred City as it can be seen today; from there they left. In the second third, with a sense of dream and nostalgia, the walk, its clothes, its colors, its skins, hairstyles and shoes are represented. In the last third, the anguish of an entire town that resisted and became extinct in the new population of Quilmes is printed. Perhaps, it is still present in the descendants that could not be captured. On the cloth of earth that covers the pain, the story of their migration was written in Red Blood.
