Marian Vergara Cuellar
Artist
Marian Vergara Cuellar was born in 2007 with an evident talent. Since her first sketches, represented by a high sensitivity towards nature, portraying that life on her canvases with discipline, perseverance and above all, a lot of passion.
Her artistic development has led her to participate as a child artist invited to the first exhibition of Digital Urban Art, in the Summer Festival in Bogotá city and to other activities and group exhibitions organized by IDARTES CREA and held at the Virgilio Barco Library in 2016 and 2018.
Her work has been recently exhibited at Geba Art Gallery (2019) in which she presented an artistic intervention of a “one dollar bill” that gave her the merit of an honorable mention to be the youngest and most outstanding artist to participate in the “Art is Money is Art” exhibition. Also, she participated as a promising youth in the group exhibition titled “En_torno”, organized by ArteLatAm at Geba Art Gallery in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2020, she was selected to participate in a Group Exhibition organized by the Academy of Arts “Fabula” along with the First LEGA2 Biennial.
Her most recent work reflects the human figure with high degree of sensitivity to the woman’s body. She finds in the experience, the way to achieve a higher level towards a constant evolution. She integrates different techniques coming from the work of pencil and charcoal on canvases, combined with applications of colors in acrylics and ending the work with appliques and gold leaf finishes that give it, from her perspective, a higher value that highlights the essence of women.
