Wildriana Paulino
Lives and works in New York, US

Wildriana de Jesús Paulino (b.1999) was born in San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic. She is currently in her four year at The Cooper Union, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. The narrative of her work focuses on Latin American issues of violence and politics. To represent such accounts, she utilizes printmaking, painting, drawing, photography, and installation.

At present, Wildriana centralizes her artistic research on feminicide (killings of women, the female sex). A phenomena so common in Latin America that the act of this crime is no longer a surprise. It is perceived as something expected daily. By diving in the ambiguity of abstraction versus representation, Wildriana intends to denormalize the contra naturam act of female murdering.
