One Way (ArteLatAm Collective)

In the course of human history, mankind has moved from one place to another, often to flee danger and seek a safe haven. This is true today and affects this country, this city, this time. Ourproposed exhibition addresses the myriad experiences and struggles of people from Latin America and the Caribbean compelled to venture away from their native countries to escape extreme danger and hardship and looking for safety and opportunity. The artists of Artelatam will express their own experiences through sculpture, painting, printmaking, installations, and mobiles.

Programming throughout the exhibition will include an artists talk moderated by Art Historian Angela García and multiple gallery tours by appointment. A digital catalogue with essays by Art Curator Graciela Kartofel will be published on the occasion of the exhibition.
